Alberto “Bobby Soul” De Benedetti is known to be one of the pioneers of Italian Black Music Since the 80’s he is author, singer, producer, deejay and event organizer.
He took part to some of the cult groups of Italian Indie scene such as Voci Atroci, accapella quintet guided by actor/musician Andrea Ceccon, Sensasciou, a trio, the become a band, which contaminated traditional Genouese chants with ragamuffin, reggae and soul music, winner of 1997 Premio Tenco, and most all Blindosbarra - probably the most important Italian band playing funk, with 4 recorded CD, two of which for BMG/aryola under the production of Ben Young (Massive Attack) and Carlo Rossi (Almamegretta, Jovanotti among many others).
With these three bands he recorded a dozen of albums and performed thousand times in Italy and abroad, with one MTV day and an opening act for U2 in Reggio Emilia.
He produces music as well as speeches for fictions, fashon shows and art sonorizations.
His first solo album “Draghirossi & Buchineri” out in 2007 for indie-label Mo-beat records has gained extremely positive reviews.
These days he is releasing a double album called “73% Phunk”, with his fellow live band Les Gastones, including some reloads of the previous album, loads of unreleased stuff, live things and videos.
